Mangaluru: Even when the hijab controversy has led to the close of educational institutions in Karnataka, a video clip of several Muslim students who offer Namaz in the classroom in the government elementary school in Ankathadka in Kadaba Taluk, about 50 km from here, has a go viral on social media .
Students studying in class V and VII have offered Namaz in the class in February 4.
The incident was revealed when the video clip became viral, and the locals opposed it.
As soon as the information was received, officials from the Ministry of Education visited school on Friday.
According to sources, the incident offered Namaz has not yet reached the teacher’s notification on Friday last week.
Immediately after knowing the incident, the teacher directed students not to be involved in religious activities in the classroom.
Parents from several children have searched for permission from school, to allow students to visit the mosque to offer prayers on Friday.
However, there is no permission given to offer Namaz in the school, the school authorities said.
