PANAJI: Minister of Home Union Amit Shah postponed his departure from Goa on Wednesday to have an important meeting, last minute ahead of the election of February 14.
He returned to the drawing board to plan a strategy and suggested the BJP Core Committee and senior officials who had been responsible for the election of the State Assembly.
This party faces intense competition in more than 10 constituencies, which are mostly in Bardez – Taluka with the number seven of the two highest constituencies.
In some other constituencies, BJP candidates also face anti-incumbencies.
“Shah holds a detailed review of any constituencies and steps suggested to improve the party’s prospects in the constituency that looks weak.
He also discusses the strategies that can be seen after the results,” said a BJP senior official.
The Luke of the Luke Union was in Goa on Wednesday to participate in the Door-to-Door campaign in the Mayem Constituency, after which he discussed two public meetings in Bicholim and Sanquelim, both represented by BJP.
He was scheduled to go to Delhi around 9pm on Wednesday, but decided to delay at the last minute.
He then delayed his departure on Thursday morning to hold a meeting with the selection of Cave BJP elections, Devendra Fadnivis.
“Shah keeps the battle tightly on political developments in Goa when BJP wants to ensure that it forms the next government,” said a senior party official.
Apart from Shah, Prime Minister of Narendra Modi, Minister of Transportation and Jalan Raya Nitin Gadkari, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and the National President of BJP J P Nadda discussed public meetings in Goa for Galvanized Karaktas BJP.
During the BJP wave in 2012, the party has managed to secure 24 seats under the leadership of the former Minister of Manohar Parragar after entering the pre-polling alliance with MGP.
Of these, 21 is guaranteed by BJP and three by MGP.
This number was reduced to 13 seats during the 2017 assembly selection.
