Pune: eight out of 13 teasts in the country’s countryside have reached 100% of the first dose vaccination of the age group 15-18, said Zilla Parishad official.
The level of vaccination is low in Haveli (50.8%) and Mulshi (62.2) tehsils.
Shirur (97.8%), Purandar (90.4%), and Junnar (88.1%) were on the verge of reaching 100% vaccination of the first dose of teenagers, they said.
Dr.
Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer, said, “We cannot complete 100% vaccination from the first dose of this age group because of the low percentage in Haveli and Mulshi Tehsils.
We have instructed each healthy health officer to accelerate the trip in the coming week.
The school has been reopened, we are sure to complete the first dose vaccination of all beneficiaries the following week.
“According to the record of Zilla Parishad (ZP), there are a total of 2.11 beneficiaries of the Lakh who qualifies in this category.
From them, as many as 1.85 lakh have got the first JAD so far in the country’s countryside, consisting of 13 teasts and 14 city councils.
“We cannot cover all beneficiaries because of school closure because most beneficiaries are school students.
We have even directed the head of public health centers to identify beneficiaries in villages to reach 100% vaccination of age groups,” Pawar added.
Officials claim that most parents in Haveli Tehsil did not send their children to vaccinate due to lack of consciousness.
That alone has more than 56,997 beneficiaries of qualified, where 28,970 has got the first jab.
