Pune: The famous Pharma Mutli-national company, with his office in Bhosari, was deceived by Cyber RS1.95 Crore fraudsters between November and December 2021 through a phishing letter attack.
Assistant General Manager Company (36), resident Ravet, filed a complaint to the police on Friday.
Senior Inspector Bhaskar Jadhav from Police Bhosari said, “Fraud was revealed in December, but company officials investigated the trial of money and then took the permits needed from management before submitting a complaint to the police.” According to complaints, the company has placed orders to get machines with Chinese companies for the production of drugs in their Bhosari factory in 2021.
“However, the company received an email on November 26, 2021, requested that payment in advance and the email also stated that there was a change in Bank account number.
The email has a new bank account with a bank name “, said Jadhav.
“The email has all the similarities of the email of a Chinese company.
It has small changes in the address bar.
It also has other logos and graphics from Chinese companies,” he added that the company official believed the email.
“Without verifying the details and letters with Chinese companies, the financial official of the pharmaceutical company transfers money to the account provided,” he said.
“The money was received by a bank account located in London,” Jadhav said, “further procedure has begun to free the account.” The police registered the case under the 420 section (cheating and triggering property delivery) and 465 (penalty for forgery) from the Indian Criminal Code (IPC).
The police also request the provisions of Information Technology (IT) acting in this case.
