New Delhi: Many jumping liquor in the capital has witnessed a big rush in the last few days with some prices cut up to 35% to increase sales.
Delhi’s new excise policy now allows retailers to offer discounts.
Rates on Vends Select are not only lower than others in the city, but also those in the adjacent Gurugram and Noida.
Thanks to new policies, not only retailers that offer discounts in the range of 30-40%, they also come with unique offers that are not allowed in the old regime.
The Excise Ministry only improves the maximum retail price below the new policy.
Vinod Giri, Director General of the Confederation of Indian Bercohol Beverages, said this phenomenon was seen in Delhi because several vendors followed the strategy of “low margin, high volume” to recover the retail zone auction fee.
As part of Delhi’s new excise policy, the city has been divided into 32 zones and licenses have been allocated based on the auction zone.
Although a total of 849 oral new liquor is scheduled to open, less than 600 has started working until now.
According to sources, 50 vends are scheduled to open immediately.
“People have paid all the tasks in the form of auction and, for them, maximizing volume is very important with whatever operating margins they get,” Giri said.
“As a city, discounts are here to stay.
Competitive prices will be there and customers will benefit,” he said.
Giri said that there was a problem in the launch and some outlets were not yet opened and things would only settle in April, when a clearer picture will appear and the complete benefits of new policies can be seen.
