New Delhi: Karnataka Students who have moved to court against the orders of the state government forbade the hijab in the classroom, on Monday, claiming to be allowed to wear a hijab that matches the color of the school uniform.
Appearing for the Petitioner, the Advocate Devadatt Kamat said the full bench from the Karnataka High Court, which even central schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas allowed the hijab in class.
“The hijab is an important religious practice, and limits its use of violating Article 25 of India’s constitution,” Kamat said.
According to Article 25 of the Indian Constitution, “Subject to public order, morality and health and to other provisions of this section, all people are equally entitled to the freedom of conscience and free right to claim, practice and propagate religion.” Furthermore, it says that nothing in that must affect the operation of any legal existing or prevent the state so as not to make laws that regulate or limit other economic, financial, political or secular activities that can be associated with religious practices and regulate the economy, activities Financial, political or other secular can be attributed to religious practices.
Kamat also argues that the college committee that has forbade the hijab in the classroom is “extra constitutional authority and third parties,” and cannot decide on the code of clothing.
He pointed to the fact that some Muslim girls had been wearing a hijab since the entry on campus two years ago.
Conteroversion currently erupts only after several other students began to wear a piece of cloth which is considered to have a religious context.
The court will continue hearing again on Tuesday.

However, the students in Bengaluru – despite worrying about developments – have not witnessed every upheaval, which includes high schools in Karnataka reopened on Monday, in the midst of the prohibited orders in Udupi and the sensitive area of Dakshina Kannada and Bengaluru, after being closed during a few days during the hijab controversy.

The Karnataka High Court, in the interim order awaiting consideration of all petitions related to the hijab row, has asked the state government to reopen educational institutions and hold all students to wear a turmeric scarf, scarves, headscarves and any religious flag in the classroom.
