Islamabad: The Taliban government while Afghanistan has announced the special military unit named “Panipat” – seems to attract inspiration from the third battle of Panipat fighting in 1761 where Afghan rulers Ahmad Shah Durrani defeated the Maratha army.
Some social media users called it Taliban Jingoism to be angry with India after they quickly controlled the battered country since tens of US last year.
“Panipat Operational Unit” will be positioned in the East Nangarhar Province of the country bordering Pakistan.
In a recent post on Twitter, Afghan news reported the Taliban announcement and sharing photos of masked Taliban soldiers in military uniforms, holding rifles and American parading in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangrahar.
Historical events such as the battle of Panipat are often discussed in religious sermons in the countryside of Afghanistan to arouse people’s sentiment in supporting Muslims in places they consider them in trouble.
Kashmir and Palestine come for discussions often in the mosque and seminary in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The announcement pulled a mixed reaction on social media: some praised it, some condemned him while others made fun of him.
“God willing, history will be repeated again,” Tweet Javid Tanvir, an Afghanistan.
“It’s very funny.
Very stupid.
I understand that this order was officially from Pakistan because of the problem with India,” another Afghanistan tweeted.
Twitter users with the name islampaal write that “…
Hindu must take this as a clear sign.
We haven’t forgotten our ancestors.
Sister Muska, we heard your crying”.
Indian citizens respond on Twitter that “Jingoism is not a new thing for the Taliban”.
“This clearly shows Taliban’s despair for some reactions.
Well, unfortunately for them, the MEA will not respond to such comic tokens.
Terror groups must help Afghans first, instead of making efforts to fail to take Jibes in Indians.
