Rajkot: Alleging harassment by bribe-demanding authorities, two bootleggers at Surendranagar district tried suicide within one day.
Even the cops though refuted the allegations.
A bootlegger recognized as Manish alias Munno Khambhaliya listed a movie on his cell phone and afterwards consumed phenyl.
Khambhaliya termed four cops from the movie alleging they had obtained more than Rs 3 lakh in him at the past six weeks.
He explained that today the cops were demanding Rs 25,000 more.Khambhaliya additionally detained of the four policemen of utilizing the titles of both superintendent of Surendranagar authorities and the district collector when demanding cash.
He said the cops threatened to frame him in a false situation.
Khambhaliya has been treated at Surendranagar and cops stated his condition remains stable.
In another incident, the other bootlegger Jagdish alias Jago Kolia resident of Velnathpura, swallowed rat poison in his residence.
He’s currently undergoing treatment in Rajkot hospital.
His wife and mom declared that authorities used to regularly visit their house in odd hours demanding cash.
They stated that though Koli had ceased the illegal company, police maintained demanding cash.
Leading cops, however, refuted these claims.
“The duo’s allegations are untrue.
They’ve levelled allegations against these police officers who had registered cases against them before,” said deputy superintendent of police Himanshu Doshi.
He included that Khambhaliya was reserved twice while Koli has 22 cases against him was detained under Prevention of Anti-Social Tasks (PASA) Act.
