Vadodara: Yatra Lord Jagannath will run in the city this year.
The police department has given permission to ISKCON management to regulate Rath Yatra which will be held on July 12.
However, the public will not be allowed on the route from which the procession will pass.
Yatra Timing has also been changed.
“The curfew will be charged in the area where the procession will pass.
People will not be allowed to come on the road to bring Darshan from God because we want to avoid large crowds.
The state government has issued a notification in this matter,” said Shamsher Singh, Commissioner City police.
The procession will begin at 9 am and it will end within two hours.
Singh said that the procession route had also been reduced by one and a half kilometers.
“We will use four companies from the State Reserve Police (SRP), Joint Police Commissioner, Six Deputy Police Commissioners, 10 Assistant Commissioners and more than 1,000 police on the procession route,” Singh added.
According to the guideline, only people who are negative RPCR tests 48 hours before Rath Yatra can participate in the procession.
