Vadodara: In a shameful incident that made the red-faced police, a man accused of having a cheating in the Panigati police station on Tuesday.
Durgesh Kumar Gupta did not have to work too hard when he escaped from the police station located in the old city and escaped with automatic rickshaws.
The police learned about his escape after some time and swung in action.
The incident occurred around 5pm.
Gupta, in locking, asked the police to allow him to use a small room.
He was taken to a small room that had a small window.
Gupta managed to spend a few bricks from the window and slipped out.
He then walked across the road and rented an automatic rickshaw.
The police then scan the CCTV footage and trace the vehicle he has risen.
The driver told the police that Gupta went down at the bus depot in mejigunj.
Further investigation revealed that he took a bus to Ahmedabad.
Senior police officers have ordered an investigation into a security hose.
The Gupta was the defendant in the case of cheating in which three men cheated a woman and stole his gold bracelet a few days ago.
He was arrested by the police on July 7 but he was tested positive for Covid.
He was hospitalized and after he was tested negatively for Covid, the police arrested him on Tuesday morning.
