Vadodara: MS University has pocketed the highest number of scholarships under the state government scheme developing high-quality research (Shodh).
Of the 145 applications delivered by a PhD research scholar, 132 has been considered for financial assistance by the Ministry of Education.
“A total of 993 scholarships have been approved at the state of the state of our students have the highest share,” said MSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Parimal Vyas.
Each student will receive RS 15,000 per month for two years for a full-time PhD program regardless of additional Rs 20,000 as a continuation grant per year.
“Thus, every student will receive Rs 4 lakh at the end of two years of fellowship,” he said.
Professor Hitesh Raviya, Head of the Ministry of English said that the research scholars in his department would receive a fellowship worth Rs 52 lakh under the scheme.
“We are proud to announce that 13 Bachelor of PhD Research from 23 of the Faculty of Art comes from our department,” Raviya said.
Previously, the department had created history in the academic year 2020-2021 when 34 students were recommended for the highest PHD registration among all university faculties.
“Of the 32 students have been registered,” said Raviya.
The aim of fellowship is to increase research orientation between students and to develop high-quality research.
Faculty data shows that the Faculty of Science has pocketed a maximum scholarship in 68 followed by the Faculty of Art in 23 and the Faculty of Technology and Engineering at 17.
Nine research studies have pocketed scholarships at the Faculty of Family and Community Sciences, seven at the Faculty of Education and Psychology while the Faculty of Pharmacy and The faculty of social work each has three scholarships.
Two scholars of the faculty of art shows have also pocketed Fellowships.
