Chisinau: President Moldovan Maia Sandu said on Friday he namined former Finance Minister Natalia Gavrilita to become the new prime minister.
Gavrilita needs to be approved by the parliament, where the party when Sandu ordered the majority after winning the Snap parliamentary election in July on the platform of reform and handling corruption.
Gavrilita, 43, is the Minister of Finance when Sandu is the prime minister in 2019, in a short-lived government that falls in voting without trust in a few months.
Before that, he worked with the British Oxford Consultance policy management and on non-profit global innovation funds.
Sandu, who supported a closer bond with the European Union, defeated its pro-Russian predecessor Igor Dodon in the presidential election in November and called parliamentary shots to consolidate his strength.
“I have every confidence that the prime minister appointed will come with an integrated and professional team,” Sandu wrote on Facebook.
