Mangaluru: The Interstate Bus service between Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod has been suspended for one week due to a surge in Covid-19 cases in Kerala and Kannada Dakshina.

The decision in this case was taken at the meeting of the Dakshina Kannada disaster management authority chaired by MP member Nalin Kumar Kateel in the office of the deputy commissioner on Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner KV Rajendra said that the movement of the bus between Dakshina Kannada and Casilagod in Kerala had been banned from 1 to 7.

Interstate bus, KSRTC and personal buses, will not be permitted and students from Kerala must produce a negative RT-PCR certificate to enter the Kannada Dakshina.
Students from Kerala traveling to Hostels in Dakshina Kannada must remain in quarantine here for one week, “DC said.
This district will also increase the testing of Covid-19 and those tested positively will be sent to the Covid Care Centers (CCC) mandatory, he said and directed the police to register the infected FIR outside.
In addition to the existing detention plan, a house with two or more positive cases will also be declared as a micro detention zone, Dr.
Rajendra said.
While public meetings are banned until 10 August, marriage can be held in front of 50 guests and relatives.
“The case will be ordered to the owner of the wedding building if a large meeting is found during a wedding ceremony.
