Vadodara: This city seems to have raced in front of others in terms of Covid-19 vaccination.
Nearly 12 lakh people in the city have taken at least one dose of vaccine.
Even though hiccups, drive vaccination in the city continues.
According to Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) data, 11,89,500 people have taken the first dose so far while 4,31,629 people have taken photos of both vaccines.
In the absence of other concrete data, the Civic Agency considers the number of voters in the city as a rough estimate of the number of people to be vaccinated.
In the latest civilian elections for VMC, 14,46,212 voters are registered in the city.
If someone considers this number, more than 82% of adults in the city have been vaccinated.
However, officials said that the number of people who had been vaccinated with the first dose had passed 90%.
“The target population data has been done by the state government and with that figure, we have crossed 90% vaccination,” said the VMC (health) medical officer Dr.
Devesh Patel.
The source says that some differences in the data will remain with the absence of the right character in the city.
Another reason is that many from outside the city have been vaccinated here.
At the same time, many of the cities took the vaccine outside.
“When there is a rush for vaccination in the city, many go to public health centers in the nearest villages and even districts.
At the same time, many of the rural areas may have taken vaccines in the city when vaccination of age groups 18- 44 years began here and not in rural areas, “said an official.
The second dose coverage in the city currently stands almost 30% of the total population.
The percentage of people who take the second dose gradually increase with the increase in the number of Jabs provided every day.
