The unemployed man ridden by debt ends life in Jamnagar

Rajkot: A 37-year-old man who lives in Jamnagar ended his life on Sunday late at night when he and his wife lost their job and had a loan to repay.
Police said that the Jethwa Paras who died, who worked as a laborer in a factory in Udhyoghagar, was fired from work when his employer faced losses.
Jethwa Dhairyasmita’s wife recently lost her job at a security agent, she worked with her.
Because he had to pay back the loan with EMI of Rs 12,000 in addition to household expenses, Jethwa was worried, he told the police.
On Sunday night, while his wife and other family members attended the religious program on the ground floor of the building, Jethwa came home and hung himself from the ceiling fan.
Around 11:30 a night when his 12-year-old son returned home, he found his father died.
“The deceased has taken a loan RS 3 Lakh from a private finance company to buy Van Pick-up and he used it to provide water cans.
But because the locking of his van remained silent, so he sold it and began working in a factory,” said a police officer.
Inundated death cases were registered at the B division police station in Jamnagar.
