Gadag: National Level Traffic Runner Basavaraj Ingalagi, 47, died here on Monday after a heart attack.
Ingalagi works in the technical section in Gadag under the southwestern train.
He has won a gold medal throughout India cross country cross country two decades ago.
He was chosen for the Indian trial team for the 25th Cross Country World Championship, which will be held in Torino, Italy, but has returned due to lack of information.
He has proven his ability in many Touretys between universities.
He also guided several athletes from the Gadag district.
Ingalagi survives by his wife, two daughters and mothers.
The last rite was held in the original Shirahatti on Tuesday.
