Kalyan: A 20-year-old woman is physically misused and at least 15 passengers are robbed by eight robbers in the Pushpak Lucknow-Mumbai Express train between Igatpuri and Kasara.
The incident occurred on Friday night when the train from Lucknow was heading towards Mumbai.
After the incident, Kalyan GRP, along with the branch of the train police crime, arrested four accused during the hunt above the remaining four was accused.
The defendant who was arrested was identified as Arshad Shaikh (19), Prakash Pardhi aka Pakya (20), Arjun Pardeshi (20) and Kishore Sonange alias Kalu (25).
Shaikh was a resident of the Malad area in Mumbai while the rest of the defendant was a resident of the area of Igatpuri in Nashik.
The defendant has been ordered based on Section 376 (D) (gang rape) and parts associated with robbery.
The robbers entered the train at Igatpuri Station and robbed their cellphone passengers and cash threatening them to use knives and belts.
After robbery, some of the defendants physically misused the girl.
Seeing the incident, some passengers arrested two charges, while the rest managed to escape at the Kasara train station.
Then, after the train reached the Kalyan train station, the passengers handed over charges to Kalyan GRP.
GRP then formed a team and arrested two accused again.
The team is now looking for the remaining defendants.
The incident on the train has increased question marks for passenger safety on the train as before, several incidents related to robbery were reported on this route.
