Ranchi: Food Department, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs on Friday Launches the “Aahar Suvidha”-based Geo-location application to increase transparency in the Public Distribution System (PDS).
Especially to ensure the appointment and distribution of kerosene which is on time by wholesalers and PDS stores, the process of allocation systems for online kerosene will be launched in the state in February.
This application, which is developed faded and will capture latitude and will capture latitude and longitude from food distribution and also beneficiaries.
Data will be available on the Department portal on the realtime basis that can be verified if there are complaints.
With a total of 24,408 PDS stores that function in the country, 856 of them work in offline mode due to poor network connectivity in some remote areas of the country.
However, the state government also runs a vulnerable tribal group (PVTG), Daakia scheme, where food gardens are sent to the threshold of beneficiaries.

The department has decided to expand the program to various countries.
The allocation system will ensure realtime monitoring from the allotment of kerosene and transports from the State Depot to PDS stores.
Online reports of all activities of all stakeholders can also be monitored.
After kerosene is appointed by wholesalers from the oil depot, the PDS shops concerned will soon get a designated place, date and time to lift kerosene via SMS, which will eventually save time and labor.
