Daltonganj: Management of Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR) is busy preparing village vision documents and village maps close to reserves after the recent directive from Jharkhand High Courct.on January 1, the Division of Judge Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan directed the Secretary of the Department of Forest, Environment and Climate change and PCCF-WL to appear before the court on February 4 and submit vision documents for PTR and full maps of the villages around the forest.
The court also directed officials to notify the courts of the steps taken to reclaim the fauna in the backup.
Field Director of Ptr Kumar Ashutosh on Friday said that one of the foundation of the vision document would move two villages, namely Latu and Kujrum, from the core area to the outside of Ptr.
“Restocking from Cheetal and even the spread of the prey base (for tigers) will also be included in the document,” he added.
There were 190 villages inside and around PTR.
While Ashutosh did not reveal many, the PTR source said the document would also focus on meadow management, ensuring the availability of surface water, reducing human-animal conflict, preservation of biodiversity and reduction in surface splame.
