Vadodara: Even though the rapist was arrested in 10 days after the crime, the arrest came as a big shame for Vadodara police.
Apart from their best efforts, it was the crime branch of Ahmedabad who managed to track the duo accused of Mathasuriya and Jaso Solanki in a few days after completing the investigation.
Sleuth Branch Crime Ahmedabad said that the investigation was difficult because CCTV recording did not provide useful instructions.
“Using a combination of human intelligence, technical supervision and the question of the local population, we tracked the defendant.
Ay Baloch’s Inspector was informed that two people who fits the description given by the girl looked near the Tarsali vegetable market,” said an official Crime Branch.
“A team reached the place and held the duo which was then taken to Ahmedabad.
The team also found the two-wheeled boy’s key from them apart from the smartphone found in Kishan Mathasuriya.
The location of the duo cellphone also strengthened their presence in the area when the girl was raped,” Crime added Branch.
Sleuth Branch Vadodara said they missed the identification of the duo by the mustache.
“We have scan the details of cell phone calls from the area to three hours before rape.
The Ahmedabad Crime branch examined the call five hours before the incident and that’s where they got a clue from the one accused,” said a police officer.
