Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to prepare a multi-sectoral action plan involving all stakeholders to prevent and prohibit the practice of marriage of old children.
According to him to the 2015-16 National Family Health Survey (NFHS), as many as 21.3% of girls in Odisha married before the age of 18 years of legal.
Along with the districts, the government will also focus on the city’s poor in the municipality.
The government will prepare an inter-sectoral convergence action plan for each district for the prevention and ban of children’s wedding.
This includes the convergence of cross-sector programs and major row departments in the district, officials said.
Assignment District Meeting (DTF) will be held regularly to review the implementation of children’s wedding free initiatives, rehabilitation and skills opportunities for teenagers who are saved from child marriages or at risk of child marriages, child labor and child trade.
The government will identify vulnerable bags and intensify consciousness.
