Hubballi: An environmental lover has alleged that organized groups are working in slowly killing trees in the twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad.
Harshavardhan Sheelavant has noted in what pictures and videos he calls slow trees.
He said some people peel the stem and leave the tree bruise like that a few days.
When broken rods and roots don’t get enough water and food because of damage, the tree dries and dies.
Then, they send applications that demand that the dead dead tree be cut.
Harshavardhan told Tii that large trees were killed in Kuvempu Road, Navanagar, Hubballi.
“The stem circumference is around 123 inches and the skin is carvant regularly.
After the skin is sculpted, the tree dries gradually.
Maybe the same weakness also filed a tree logging and nodded from the Ministry of Forestry,” he said.
He said that even though he had attracted the attention of the Ministry of Forestry, HDMC representatives and was chosen through Facebook and Twitter for this practice, no one acted or responded.
Yashpal Kshirsagar, Deputy Forest Conservator in Division Dharwad, said: “We are authorized to allow trees that are not safe for citizens.
There are several rules before issuing permission.
However, we are not entitled to keep the obligation to kill trees slowly.
In Bengaluru , BBMP has its own mechanism.
In other cities, it is unclear.
However, if we receive complaints, we will attend and prevent such efforts.
“Rajana, a shopkeeper in Dharwad, said that such practice had been going on for many years year.
“Often, the lack of coordination between departments such as forests, Hescom, HDMC, encouraged citizens to cut trees illegally.
A citizen in Navanagar has approached the forestry department asking to cut trees because the branches touched the electric cable per year away.
Hescom turned off The power supply but forest personnel did not get to the place.
This lasts for six months.
Then, the residents paid bribes to a contractor and it was cut off a day, “he said.
