JAMSHEDPUR: Diesel-run autorickshaws in Jamshedpur must pull out of the streets of January 1 next year and automatic drivers will only be allowed to operate if they use CNG-powered vehicles, the East Singhbhum District Transportation Office (DTO) office.
Previously, several union cars in the city had searched for extensions to December 31 deadlines issued by the district transportation department.
However, officials have ignored their requests.
Orders to remove Diesel powered autos were issued in July this year.
East Singhbhum District Transportation Officer Dinesh Kumar Ranjan said, “The deadline will not be extended (exceed December 31).
We will hold a meeting with the owner of the autorickshaw and their union to ensure that the target is achieved within the specified period of time.” Stand Ranjan will mean that the owner will mean Automatically has 20 days left to turn their car to CNG or buy a new CNG powered vehicle.
The automatic association claimed there were nearly 13,500 autos plying on the streets of Jamshedpur at this time and from them, nearly 10,000 diesel-powered.
According to the DTO office, there are 500 CNG Autos at this time.
Jamshedpur Tempo Chalak Union President Pawan Pandey said they had written to the Secretary of the State Transportation pray for the extension of the deadline.
“The owner is automatically not financially to buy new vehicles in short notifications,” Pandey said.
Old vehicles need to draw an investment worth 30,000 Rs for a new CNG kit.
Shyam Kinkar Jha, the president of the United other car body named Sikshit Berojgar Tempo Chalak Sangh, said the operator was shaken from the financial losses they suffered during locking and struggling to stay because of the increase in fuel prices.
