Bogota: Former Champion Tour de France Egen Benan, who said he was “almost dead” after crashing into the bus during the running training, was dismissed from the hospital on Sunday, two weeks after a horror accident.
The 25-year-old violated 11 ribs, knee caps, thigh bones, two spinal bones and thumbs, and stabbed the two lungs, in the accident of January 24 while driving with teammate Ineos Grenadiers near Bogota.
He underwent five operating attacks.
“For me, just live like a rebirth,” Bernal Week said in a video sent to the media after leaving the University of La Sabana clinic, on the outskirts of Bogota.
A photo posted by a clinic shows Bernal wearing a protective neck brace and flanked by two medical staff members he “thanked” because of giving him this “second chance”.

The clinic added: “He can now continue the rehabilitation process.” On Thursday, Bernal has remembered the accident.
“I almost died but I thank God for this test,” he said.
