After one year, PMC school students to get financial assistance

Pune: After a pandemic gap induced by a pandemic, city school students based in the city will finally be able to take advantage of financial assistance for immediate education.
After more than a year, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to provide funds to students to help purchase uniforms and educational material.
The Civic body did not distribute this monetary assistance last year, because the school was closed because of Covid-19, and only the online class was being carried out.
This year, students from class VII to XII will be given this assistance in the first phase because their offline school will restart at first.
It’s been a long time, Politicos has demanded that this financial assistance be disbursed to all students even if their offline class has not restarted.
PMC has provided financial assistance through the Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme (DBT) for the 2019-20 academic year, but this is canceled at 2020-21.
PMC Educational Committee Chairman Manjushree Khardekar said, “Students will benefit from this assistance.
Because the severity of the pandemic decreases, students will be asked to go to school now.
Because they have old uniforms and current education material, the decision was taken to transfer money to their account .
“He added that even elementary school students had to get this assistance because their offline school could immediately reopen.
The funds are transferred to a dedicated bank account, which has been given a DBT card under the scheme.
Students are expected to use these cards in certain shops to use goods, and some store owners have been returned for the same thing.
A senior PMC official said, “orders were issued to make payments to high school and junior students.
Decisions about other students will be taken in time.” The PMC Education Department runs 287 schools that provide education in Marathi, England, Urdu and Kannada.
Most students admit here belong to a socially weaker and financially part.
