Ahmedabad: The helicopter joyrides starting from January 1 from Sabarmati Riverfront might soon be extended to Science City too.
Private Limited Aerotrans service, companies that run services, are in talks with the state government to take services to City Science, according to company promoters.
Rajiv Gandhi, Director, Aerotrans, said: “We are in talks with the state government to expand services at Science City in Ahmedabad who have steps ranging from 2,000 to 10,000.” Gandhi added: “The vehicle is carried out under the supervision of Ahmedabad Air Traffic Controller (ATC).” Aerotrans acquired by the owner of the pharmaceutical company, Hester Biosciences Limited in Ahmedabad, and is a two and half-year airline company.
The company has a six aircraft fleet and three helicopters.
Five is fully owned by the company and the rest are managed for other people who have planes.
At present, services operate twice a week on Friday and Saturday.
About 15 vehicles held for two days and so far, around 600 people enjoy flights.
Aerotrans now offers business tourism and tourism from Gujarat which ranges from Rs 45,000 per hour to rs 1.75 lakh per hour.
The flight speed ranges from 230 kmpj to 650 kmpj.
“We are looking to explore the full flight charter business.
We have a single piston machine, a jet, and helicopter,” Gandhi said.
“So far, family, companies, and other tourists have rented our planes to visit Gir, Dahej, Somnath, Dwarka, Dhordo, and even Palitana.” He added: “We want to serve individuals and corporations through this service.”
