Ahmedabad: A 50-year-old man from the Ramol City area was shot dead by a fellow resident of his housing on Tuesday afternoon.
The defendant was arrested by city crime branch officers on Tuesday night.
According to a crime branch officer, Ishwar Thakor was a resident of Skyline Vrundavan, where the defendant, Pradeep Rajput, also lived.
When Thakor was a member of the Society Housing Committee, he went to meet Rajput to request RS 3,000 maintenance contributions, because Rajput did not pay his contribution for about eight months.
Instead of paying money, Rajput was angry at Thakor and began to abuse it, because it was thought that it did not provide the right service in the community.
The battle changed with violence when Rajput issued a stating gun and fired two rounds in Thakor.
One of the bullets about Thakor was right above the left eyebrow and he fainted in place.
Rajput then escaped.
Thakor was taken to the LG hospital in Maninagar, where he died during treatment, said a Ramol police officer.
A city crime branch team was ordered to arrest rajput and on the basis of its cellphone location and human intelligence, arrested him from the Amraiwadi area.
The crime branch officer said Rajput would take a bus out of the country when he was arrested.
Police officers said Rajput runs a medical store in Vastral.
Ramol police registered the murder and violations of Arm acted against Rajput and started an investigation.
Rajput has been captured by Nikol Police in 2017 due to attempts of murder and violation of ARM.
