AHMEDABAD: A 17-year-old woman from Rajkot was afflicted by acute spinal deformation because of an injury a couple of decades back.
Sonal was worked on in a private hospital at Rajkot and has been provided a spinal cage close to the bottom of her spine for a solution.
“For the last couple of weeks, she’d begun reporting acute pain together with puss at which the cage has been installed.
The revision operation was expensive and technically difficult,” explained Dr J P Modi, medical superintendent of Civil Hospital and back physician.
“The household thus arrived at Ahmedabad.
We completed tests and proposed a operation with a group of specialists as we had to make sure the disease from the previous cage does not hurt nerves.
In case it did not go as intended, the individual might get paralyzed” The group completed the surgery and replaced the elderly cage with fresh supports to her backbone.
She’ll be discharged shortly, ” said officials.
