Ahmedabad: The city recorded the death of three active Covid patients in 24 hours, the lowest in the last 24 days.
For Gujarat, it is a 22-day low at 14.
Within a day, mortality fell with a third of 21 on Thursday.
The city recorded 618 new positive cases, the lowest in more than a month and a 12% decline from Thursday.
Cases drop from 1.263 to 618 in five days.
In the same period, cases in the country were also split in two – from 3,897 to 1,883.
With 5,005 patients run out, the number of active cases dropped to 18,301.
Of the total, 105 patients were in the ventilator on Friday; 143 on Thursday.
In Ahmedabad, active cases fell to 7,073 – accounting of around 39% of the total case of the country.
At private hospitals, the number of patients went below 100 after more than a month at 94 – total, 9 was in the ICU and 7 in the ventilator.
“The patient’s profile does not change much, but the amount has begun to reduce drastically – those who have existing comorbidities require hospitalization.
Remdesivir prevention doses also require hospitalization,” said a critical care specialist with a city-based hospital.
Gujarat vaccinated 35,897 people for the first dose and 1.29 lakh for the second in 24 hours.
Overall, 5.16 crores have been given their first dose and 4.73 crore their second dose.
