Chennai: AIIMS, which is a lot of awaited, Madurai is targeted to be prepared in October 2026, the Ministry of Health of States and the family welfare told parliament on Friday.
Minister of Health and Welfare of the Mansukh Mandaviya family responded to starry questions, raised by DMK Lok Sabha MP from Chennai Central Dayanidhi Maran about the status of the AIIMS project in implementation, including Madurai.
In the absence of the AIIMS Madurai campus itself, this service is discussing with the Tamil Nadu government to identify the temporary campus with adequate facilities for teaching and learning including laboratory facilities and hostel accommodation for students to start the MBBS class, the Minister said in his response.
“AIIMS MADURAI is a prestigious project for Tamil Nadu.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi itself has put the foundation stone for this project two years ago,” said Maran to Lok Sabha on Friday, based on a written reply from the Ministry of Health and the family.
