Rajkot: Urban Development Authority Rajkot (Ruda) on Thursday gave approval for the planned construction of the main hospital building from all Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rajkot came in Khandheri Village and Pala Pipaliya in Jalan Jamnagar here.
The previous authority approved a plan for 24 additional buildings AIIMS Rajkot.
With this all construction plans for the hospital complex have been approved.
District administration has plans to start OPD from December this year.
At present, medical colleges attached to AIIMS Rajkot functions from PDU Medical College.
Ruda has approved other facilities and services for AIIMS buildings in accordance with CGDCR (General General Development Control Regulations).
These facilities include gardens, sports venues, milk booths, elementary schools, local commercial markets, vegetable markets, police post, primary health centers etc.
Twenty-five other buildings planned in the first phase including director bungalows, ug hostels for boys and girls, night shelter for patient relatives, guesthouses, housing for doctors, professors and nurse staff, auditoriums, dining rooms, academic blocks, for some person.
AIIMS buildings have received exceptions from the cost of development and supervision costs.
