Nagpur: With a decrease in Covid-19 cases, the Registry of the Bombay High Court has issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) to continue physical hearing in the subordinate court.
According to lawyers, now all trials can restart normal physical function with the full presence of judicial members and staff members in both sessions from February 14 to March 3, according to the direction of HC.
The Association of the High Court Bar (HCBA) Secretary Presta Khubalkar told TOI that all trials would function physically while remembering all the protocols mentioned in the SOP.
“Desired and expected that all lawyers, bar members and judicial officers multiply for everyone’s safety,” he said.
Prashant Thakre’s lawyer told Ti that he supported physical hearing because the situation of the pandemic would return to normal.
“In physical audience, your views can be well rewarded that are not possible through video conferencing.” Rating it, another lawyer Ninad Ambelkar said he strongly supported the reopening of the court, because most of the entertainment zones and other companies were open.
“Many junior lawyers, who are new in law, loss of bread and butter because of online conferences,” he said.
The SOP announced by the HC registrar mentions that even though the court will function normally, the entry of clients will not be permitted unless their presence is absolutely necessary, up to 4.
March.
After this date, the new SOP will be stated, consider the applicable situation.
SOP also states that all covid protocols, including sanitation, using masks must be strictly followed.
