Kanpur: A team of senior administrative and health officials on Tuesday visited Pardevanpurwa in Pokharpur in this district, where the country’s first Zika case was reported on Saturdays and reviewed the steps taken for infection prevention and treatment.
The team, led by the Commissioner of the Division of Raj Shekhar, including the health of advertising, CMO, commissioner of additional cities and others.
Also, one case of the Zika virus has been reported from Kanpur City.
Patient care is taking place at the Airforce Station hospital and the patient’s condition has been stolen by the doctors.
The Ministry of Health has collected 22 other people who are family members or close contact patients and all samples found negative for viruses.
The Commissioner interacts with family members who are infected and take the details of the case, the history of travel and close contact.
He said that the medical team of Lucknow also visited the city and interacted with all who cared.
“Today is also a team from the Ministry of Health of the Union and other teams from the state government in Kanpur and they are working on this case,” said the Division Commissioner.
The commissioner interacts with the entomologist team and takes updates from them.
“They have gathered mosquitoes to be sent to the National Malaria Research Institute (NMRI), Delhi for testing DNA in one or two days,” he added.
The epidemiology team from the Indian government has also reached Kanpur.
“They will study the history of the previous disease,” he added.
He said precautions needed such as cleaning and sanitation of the region, identified the reasons of mosquito breeding and cleaning the same sanitation had been taken on a war footing record.
“Bringing the necessary awareness of it is also being carried out by the District Health and Administration Department,” “he said.
The Commissioner directs the Commissioner of the City, the Health of Advertising and CMO to take all steps for prevention in the area identified and monitor personally so that the disease does not spread.
“We are all aware that the health sector is the priority sector for the state government, which takes all possible steps for the facilitation and the best health infrastructure,” said the commissioner further.
