Mumbai: About 120 residents from Bandra reclamation have submitted a petition to Mhada asking for agencies to allow them to enter the playground run by Ravindra Joshi Medical Foundation (RJMF) to walk and jogging.
In a letter to Mhada, residents have said that RJMF has recently circulated the ‘land use policy’ where residents are asked to issue Rs 200 per hour to use open space to walk and jogging.
Mahda hasn’t responded to the letter.
Last month, Mhada had issued a notice to RJMF to allow private sports agents to operate on the public runway in reclamation of bandra and collect exorbitant costs from residents to jog and play sports on the ground.
The Corporator of the Asif Congress of Zakaria and MNS Pejamin Tushar Afrue complained to Mhada that the foundation had carried out operations in the field to a private company, the Wings Sports Center who allegedly collected residents around Rs 300 to Rs 7,000 per hour.
hours to play sports.
“In June 2021, residents requested that they be allowed to use land for morning and evening walks.
To them, residents were told this would be permitted to pay Rs 200 per hour per person.
Obviously this feels exorbitant and cannot be justified,” said the letter that.
Furthermore, “RJMF, on December 27, circulated land use policy.
This policy states that citizens are free to use tracks and jogging, this is ambiguous because it does not determine the land.
This can be interpreted as’ track running and jogging Rashi at the back end of the land There are narrow strips of land and always locked.
“The population shows this letter that the basic use policy states that the RJMF is the only authority to decide on land use.
“All locals must be given free access to the ground or Mhada must take back land from RJMF because they exploit it for commercial purposes,” said the letter.
Vidya Vaidya, Chair of the Bandra Reclamation Volunteer Organization (BRAVO) has also written a letter to Mhada last week claiming that land is open to pedestrians and jogging.
The letter stated that the campaign against open space, which was developed, politically motivated.
“We urge you to attend this problem and immediately ratify land policy Population Steering Committee has been carried out together with RJMF and hope you will give us the opportunity to meet and discuss this problem.” “Please note that in the complaint letter attached here you need to look for legitimate prosecutors / empty space users.
How can you receive a letter signed by random people who might even not be residents and maybe from anywhere seriously?” stated.
Santosh Kelarn RJMF said, “We have answered Mhada’s notification.
We have appointed a personal agent who is an expert in sports.
We do not use commercially plots.
If there is an event that happens, we will notify Mhada.
We have also shared a powerful policy for residents Local with Mhada and they can use the running track and free jogging costs.
