Ahmedabad: On Tuesday, Civic’s body vector disease control wings visited 252 construction sites throughout the city and found mosquito breeding in 127 places – almost 50% of breeding places.
This campaign was carried out as a density of mosquitoes, especially Kulex and Anopheles increased in February.
AMC will visit a residential area in the coming weeks.
Overall, the AMC health team has collected Rs 4.38 lakh in a fine of the owner of this narrowing site where breeding was found.
The majority of these narrowing sites are in the west zone with 69 places, while there are 50 in the east zone.
In the Western Zone Northwest Posh, 32 narrowing sites were found to hit mosquitoes.
The team visited Gota, Chandkheda, Bodakdev, Jodhpur, Vatva, Naranpura, Shahibaug, Stadium, Sardenagar, Nikol, Ramol and Vatva.
“We realize that many are not aware of the shortcomings in their existing designs.
Designing weaknesses helps in mosquito breeding,” A senior AMC official said.
He said that the AMC team will visit a residential area after three days.
