Rajkot: The southwest monsoon place its foot in Gujarat with many sections of central area, Saurashtra and south west, getting heavy to medium rain on Friday.
Heavy rain threw life out of equipment at Anand district that was crushed by 175mm rain in only four hours commencing 6am.
The maximum rain was 6am and 8 am as it listed 120 mm.
The vast majority of low-lying locations and main streets got bombarded with rainwater whereas taxpayers needed to wade through waist-deep waterlogged places from the town and adjacent schooling hub Vallabh Vidyanagar.
Some streets resembled rivers because two-wheelers parked out homes got underwater.
Shastri Maidan, Laxmi theater street, residential societies nearby Bhalej overbridge, Vyayam Shala Road, Tulsi underpass, Radha Krishna statue region and the elongate linking brand new bus stand area into Yogi gas pump and Baithak mandir proved heavily waterlogged.
For almost two weeks, two-wheelers and bigger vehicles couldn’t cross the extend between the bus stand space and Baithak Mandir.
Vehicular movement got negatively affected for a while around Amul Dairy Road in which a tree fell down.
By late afternoon, water began receding from major regions of the city but citizens failed express their anger from misfortune of Anand Nagarpalika that they said haven’t solved long pending problems of storm water heaters notably in regions such as Lotiya Bhagol.
Like in years past rainwater entered the home quarter and workplace of Anand district superintendent of authorities that has trapped during heavy rains.
