Our family has always been a dairy farm, but we bring it to the next level towards the end of 2018.
The pandemic turned out to be a blessing, like my brother Naren Prabhu, a device engineer Soft, working from home and managing agriculture during his free time.
We currently have 22 cows from five breeds that produce an average of 50-60 liters of milk per day, “he said.
From the interest of maintaining different types of cows on the farm, they have Holstein Friesian, Jersey, Gir, Malnad Gidda and Deoni Cross Breed.
“To ensure that there is no waste of fodder, we grow various Napier Hybrid Grass in the land of two acres.
With the help of a husk cutter, the stem and leaves are chopped and given to livestock, so that everything is consumed by cattle and the availability of fibers in food is fully fulfilled.
I have developed Formula for breastfeeding concentrates.
Meanwhile, the machine is used to milk, “he said.
Because of the busy schedule, Dr.
Prabhu could not spend a lot of time on the farm.
Agriculture was treated by family members including Naren, his wife parul and wife Dr.
Nithin Nirmala.
On several occasions, the training program was also held on agriculture for members of independent groups and NGOs.
Although milk from agriculture is bought locally in that environment, the majority is obtained by the cooperative society of milk producers.
