MySuru: In a big assistance for worshipers, the National Highway Authority (NHAI) has decided to preserve the Mukhyaprana Anjaneya temple in Kalaastavadi during the increase in Mysuru-Bengaluru toll road to a 10-lap stretch.
The ancient temple, located on the outskirts of the city, is to make a way for the construction of 10 lanes freeways.
After visiting the temple with MLA G Devegowda, MP Pratap Sime announced a decision in this case on Thursday.
“This is an old temple built by Sage Vyasatirtha.
We will save this temple by building jersey barriers at that location,” he said.
Project Director Nhai B T Shridhar was present on that occasion.
Previously, local residents approached the district administration who tried to save the temple from demolition.
They claim that this temple has a history of more than 500 years.
