Chennai: Madras High Court has ordered the Immediate Implementation of the 2019 Notice that prohibits the movement of vehicles in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR) between 6pm and 6 in the morning to prevent animal death.

The court passed the temporary order in the Pils moved by the Advocate SP Chockalingam invited the attention of the court on serious irregularities and inaction of the authorities in not applying notifications on January 7, 2019.

Commercial heavy vehicles between 6pm and 6 in the morning and other vehicles between 9pm and 6 in the morning in the stretch of Bannari-Karapallam passed the STR.
Acknowledging the request, the court said: “This petition is the result of irregularities in the section of the authorities who are predicted to have an effect on the notification.

Therefore, this paper petition has been submitted to avoid further litigation.” Court Then direct the government applicants specifically for the Ministry of Forestry to explain why the notification is not given its effect, when it is issued based on Part 115 of the Motorcycle Vehicle Act.
