Nagpur: The Ministry of Medical Education of the State Government recently changed the policy of appointing lecturer contracts at Government Medical Universities (GMC) throughout the state.
Now, regardless of the lecturer under the age of 70 which retires from GMC, a contract promise because the Professor / Professor Associate can be given to doctors who are eligible for this post but in personal practice, and are willing to work as lecturers in the GMC.
This promise can be made regardless of age criteria, which means even 50-year-old doctors (non-retirement categories) in private practices can be appointed on contracts in GMC throughout the state.
The doctors of this non-retirement category will be given monthly fixed payments that run between RS1.85 lakh and RS2.30 lakh.
The state government has decided to implement this policy to ensure sufficient teaching staff in GMC, especially in the district of C and D such as Yavatmal, Gondia and Chandrapur.
But Professor Associate, Assistant Professor and Professor who have worked on a contract at GMC have opposed this decision.
They claim that the appointment of specialist doctors in personal practice will create a big obstacle in their promotion.
Maharashtra State Medical Teacher Association Secretary Dr.
Sameer Gold said the organization had fought for regularizing teachers while for years.
“Our members work full time based on contracts in GMC throughout the state.
The appointment of retired teachers is an obstacle.
Now, non-retirement doctors will get an appointment.
This step will be medical education for privatization,” said Dr Golawa.
The doctor has decided to oppose this decision by starting state level agitation.
At the gmch, they begin agitation by tearing a new policy copy.
The same will be intensified in Nagpur and other GMCs in the state of Monday because the state government has issued an ‘walk-in’ interview ad for the appointment of on-contract teachers in seven GMC from Maharashtra, including Chandrapur and Gondia in Vidarbha.
Other GMCs are in Osmanabad, Nandurbar, Satara, Sindhudurg, and Alibaug.
Interviews are scheduled for February 9 in Mumbai.
Gondia GMC, who faces severe teacher’s shortcomings, will point nine professors.
Chandrapur will rent eight professors and four professor associates.
The new policy as a super-specialist doctor has a lot of scope in personal practice, they hardly work as a lecturer in GMCS so, the government decides to designate them on contracts, which will be paid up to RS2.30 lakh per month retired public lecturer retired in GMC , but they generate the honor limit of the Honor RS60,000 for re-designating pensioners are 65 years, now increasing to 70 years of change this policy will create obstacles in the promotion and permanent appointment of lecturers who have worked in GMC for years of the lecturer will be nervous towards new policy decisions
