COX’S BAZAR: Gunmen killed at least seven people and injured 20 on Friday in an attack on Islamic seminaries in Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh, heightened tensions in recent correspondments, said a media report.
The attackers randomly shot some of the victims and stabs others with a knife in the Balukhali refugee complex at Cox’s Bazaar near the border with Myanmar, and TV quoted a regional police chief.
In the attack, four people were killed at Darul Ulum Nadwatul Ulama Al Islamia Madrassa.
While the other three died in a hospital in one of the camps.
Official has not made a statement about the number of injured people.
However, the doctor without limit said that nearly 20 people were injured in the incident.
Kamran Hossain, a police officer, said that “Rohingya Nakcreants” entered the madrasa before dawn and “randomly hacked and shot the people inside”.
At the end of September, a Rohingya leader was shot dead by an unknown gunman at Cox’s Bazar.
