Guwahati: On the second day of the submission nomination for 30 October improvements in Assam, 12 candidates submitted their paper for the Thowra Constituency, Gossiigaon and Tamulpur on Thursday.
While the BJP-LED coalition in power is united in this election, the front of the anti-BJP remains a divided house after Mahajot led by the Congress destroyed.
In Hulu Assam’s Thowra, Akhil Gogoi’s Raijor Dal (RD) -Supported Dhaijya Konwar and Krishna Gogoi from the CPI submitted a nomination on Thursday.
Independent candidates Lohit Gowala also submitted a nomination letter.
The highest five candidates have submitted a nomination for the Gossiigaon chair.
They are Jiron Basumatary (UPPL), Dhruba Kumar Brahma Narzary (BPF), Khairul Anam Khandakar (AIUDF), Jowel Tudu (Congress) and the basumatary (independent) Harkiuliash.
In Tamulpur, Emmanuel Mosahary (Independent), Ganesh Kacahary (Independent), Jolen Daimary (UPPL) and Bhaskar Dahal (Congress) have submitted a nomination.
BJP President Bhabesh Kalita and his congressional colleague Bhupen Borah accompanied the UPPL candidate Jiron candidate and Congress Bhaskar Dahal who submitted a nomination on Thursday.
Senior BJP leader and Ashok Singhal cabinet minister, who accompanied Kalita, said the direct contest was between Uppl and AIDF in Gossiigaon.
Categorically he left BPF, who won the Gossiigaon seat for Mahajot in the last election.
“For the sake of development, people must choose UPPL,” said Singhal.
Another cabinet Minister Ranjeet Dass and President of UpPL Pramod Boro accompanied the Jolen’s uppl candidate during nominated archiving.
Bhupen Borah and opposition leader, Debabrata Saikia, escorted Bhaskar Dahal in Tamulpur.
“Dahal is a young leader of the Gorkha community.
We hope people will choose him to strengthen the Congress in the Assembly,” Borah said.
Previously on that day, Dhaijya Konwar visited Shiva Doul and Devi Doul in the history of Sivasagar before he went to file a nomination.
President RD and Sivasagar Mla Akhil accused BJP to pump big money for his candidate Sushanta Borghain.
“We have confidence in voters who will choose with traitors like Sushanta,” said Akhil.
Sushanta won the last election of Thowra on a congressional ticket but became an opponent in a few months from the results stated and joined BJP.
Akhil, in a last attempt, also urged Bhupen Borah to attract the nomination of Congress candidates from Thowra, even when he convinced to support unconditional congresses in four other seats to be held.
The head of election officers, Assam, Nitin Khade, said all voting officers and election officials, including private people involved in the election duty, would be doubled.
“Candidates, electoral agents, voting agents, counting agents, drivers and anyone who come into contact with public officials or elections must multiply,” he said.
