Guwahati: Assam achieves the third best performance state achievement in the category of non-contagious diseases and general cancer filtering among northeastern countries, hilly and tribal.
The Public Health Ministry team, led by the Director of Assam National Health Mission (NHM) Dr.
Lakshmania, received the honor of the universal health coverage day in New Delhi on Monday.
NHM Assam was awarded third by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW).
The center function was held in Delhi in front of all countries to celebrate the day of the universal health coverage, organized by Mohfw, the Government of Indonesia and supported by the National Health System Resources Center (NHSRC), Jhpiego and the Indian World Health Organization.
Members of the Best Comprehensive Primary Health Team (CPHC) from each country are also trapped at the event.
Members of the CPHC team from Piazbari Sub Center-Health and Wellness Center of the Dhubri District in West Assam received awards.
The event was attended by Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, and senior Mohfw, NHSRC, Jhpiego and Who-India officials.
On behalf of Assam, the award was received by Lakshmanan S along with other officers from Assam NHM.
“We tried hard to screen more but the award was something out of our expectations,” said Lakshganan Toi.
The event was compiled as part of the celebration of the 75th month of Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav in the country.
During the activities throughout the month under Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav, field health workers carry out non-communicable disease screening, health activities and generations of digital health en in community members.
The three best states in each category (screening, wellness and generation of health id) are given by Mohfw.
