Guwahati: A number of ministers, bureaucrats, and thousands of other Assam government employees begin on Thursday – all in a special four-day bucket of an official holiday consisting of two extra working days of work – stretching to weekends for them to spend quality time with their parents or in-laws.
To ensure that employees use this time to be with their parents or in-laws, each must upload photos as evidence in the designated government portal.
Exceptions of the Ministry of Education and Emergency Departments such as health, police, fires and electricity supplies.
Teaching and non-teaching of school and college staff will take advantage of this leave from 12 months because educational institutions will be closed at 14 and 15 for Bhogali (post harvest) bihou.
