Guwahati: Assam on Friday signed MoU with the Dairy National Development Board (NDDB) for the development of holistic milk in the state through the 2000-Crore Hospital joint venture aimed at processing 10 miles of milk every day through six new milk processing units in seven years.
Under the arrangement, 15,000 cows that produce Gujarat milk will be sworn in in the country to ensure higher returns to dairy farmers in addition to creating large jobs at various levels of milk value chains.
“This will benefit more than 1,75,000 dairies.
Farmers Assam and increase their income,” Chairman of the Minister of Himanta Buswa Sarma, who attended the MoU’s signing function here together with the Minister of Fisheries Union, retirement of the farm, Parshottam Rupala.
The six milk processing facilities will be arranged where milk from more than 4100 cooperative communities must be processed, packaged and marketed.
This plan also imagines infrastructure arrangements for animal feed and manufacturing silage in the country.
The state government will ensure financial assistance and support for the planned intervention of this joint venture through the department related to the support of the Indian government under various government schemes.
The joint venture will also be guided, managed by NDDB, which will also bring the technological innovation tried and tested such as cement sorted sex, balancing ration program, etno veterinary medicine, manure management project etc.
