Guwahati: The Assam Cabinet started the new year on Saturday with several major decisions involving the main minister, which included a minister’s chief outsetrace of 50% and termination provided government homes and security protection for all prospective former CMS from now on and so on.
When overcoming the media, Chairman of Himanta Minister Buswa Sarma said that the cabinet had also adopted a policy to reduce the number of Mammoth 4,200 police personnel deployed as Personal Security Officers (PSO), cost around Rs 400 Crore every month.
More than half is deployed to keep political leaders.
“Unless those at the constitutional post, such as the minister, the High Court Judge and the Chief of Secretary and also the Deputy Commissioner who has a threat to their lives because he holds an office, we have taken a completely new attitude in terms of PSO to others,” Sarma said .
