Aurangabad gets a new iconic gate

Aurangabad: Aurangabad City, known as 52 historical gates, has witnessed the addition of modern iconic gate.
The century-old engineer institution here has established a ‘elephant gate’ at the entrance to its local chapter.
Chapter President D C Gour said the gate is the advantage of modern techniques that pay homage to the ancient structure.
“We decided to destroy our existing gate and structure and make new, more iconic in 2017.
This project is given to students, who work under the guidance of experts.
The efforts and hard work of the moon have produced creative and logical designs for the gate,” He said.
Made using the thermomechanical, cement and concrete blades, along with other ingredients, the gate has appeared on RS 18 lakh expenditure.
On the naming the ‘Elephant’ gate, Gour said it symbolized the life of an engineer as a mighty professional.
“The shape of this gate is inspired by the entrance to Cave Ajanta and Kailash Temple in Ellora.
The concept of sciography, which makes the use of the best shadow, has also been included right into the gate design,” he said.
A team of architects, engineers and designers consisting of pranav Shankar, Dilip Sarda, Kamal Rao, Prana Benderkar, Pranaav Bansode, Sanket Udhan and Tushar Phopse, along with other experts, involved in making gates.
Recently it was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad.
Established in 1920, the engineer institution is one of the largest multi-disciplinary engineers throughout the country with an active presence in Aurangabad through its local chapter.
