Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District seems to have shown concessions when it comes to implementation of mask violations in recent months.
Police, Gram Panchayats and urban local agencies in the district only ordered 2,500 cases of mask violations in December.
The district has ordered less than 500 cases in November, and nearly 700 cases in October.
According to data available with district administration, more than 1.1 cases of Crore have been booked in the district so far, which includes 36,000 cases in the first three months of the second wave of April.
More than 18,000 cases were booked in June.
However, a recent decline in the Daily Cover of Covid-19 has caused concessions in drives against mask violations in this district.
While the district has so far collected Rs 1.1 Crore as a penalty for mask violations, Rs 1.06 Crore collected before November.
The district has collected nearly Rs 32 Lakh as a penalty in June.
However, only RS 2.6 lakh was collected in December.
Deputy Commissioner K v Rajendra said that people must provide emphasis on self-rules, rather than waiting for the government to impose strict restrictions.
“District administration has implemented all state government guidelines.
Self rules in part of the person are important.
The district has undergone an economic crisis due to severe restrictions such as locking and other restrictions.
People should not be irresponsible, only because the District Administration does not impose regulations and Limitation.
People must be more responsible and follow the corresponding behavior of Covid while visiting crowded places, “DC said.
The district has recorded a one-day surge in the highest of 1,787 cases on May 15 this year.
Active kasel in the district also at its peak on May 15, with 13,194 cases.
However, after the first week of November, the district reported less than 200 new cases.
In December, Dakshina Kannada reported an average of less than 20 cases per day, and on Saturday, the district had 161 active cases.
