New Delhi: The former Union Minister of Babul Supriyo is scheduled to meet with the speaker Lok Sabha Om Birla on Tuesday at 11 am to formally submit his resignation as a member of parliament from home.
Taking to Twitter, he expressed his thanks to the speaker to provide appointment.
“Sincere thanks to the speaker Hon’ble Sir Om Birla to give me the time tomorrow at 11 am to officially resign as a member of parliament.
I will not hold on to the dock / allowance / salary of a MP now that I am no longer part.

Earlier on October 1, Supriyo shared the letter he wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla who was looking for an appointment to meet him for urgent problems.
The TMC leader said he sent a letter looking for an appointment Om Birla on September 20 and was recognized as ‘accepted’.
Supriyo has resigned in August as Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, following the Union cabinet reshuffle.
At the Facebook post, he said that there were differences of opinion between him and the leaders of the West West West Bharatiya Janata Bengal (BJP) and that differences of opinion among senior leaders were “harming the party”.
Then on September 18, the former BJP leader, who has announced that he will leave politics and will also resign as a member of Parliament, join the Trinamool Congress (TMC) who claimed that he would return for a great opportunity to serve Bengal.
