Vadodara: two and a half-leg long crocodile died after the train ran over Karjan on Thursday night.
Reptiles have traveled on the railroad when the train moves to trim it.
The Gujarat community for the prevention of cruelty of animals (GSPCA), volunteers said that they received a call from the Karjan train station to save reptiles.
“We got a call from the Karjan train station that the injured crocodile was found near the railway.
One of his legs was amputated after the train ran on it.
When we reached the place, reptiles had died,” said Raj Bhavsar from GSPCA.
This is the second incident in Karjan in the past month.
Reptiles must venture from some of the nearest water to migrate to another place, said a volunteer.
On the night of September 13, a train that moved ran for eight legs of the crocodile about 5 km from Karjan train station.
The train authority has stopped the train movement and even defended Rajdhani Express to ensure that reptiles were saved.
But the crocodile died due to a severe injury to his skull.
GSPCA volunteers also saved two more reptiles in the last 24 hours.
On Thursday, a long crocodile five legs were saved from Bajetha Village on the outskirts of the city.
The other three-foot reptiles were also saved from Chhapad Village at 11pm.
During the rainy season, water floods so that reptiles often roam to safer places.
